How can you help?All Humane Society of Alamance County (HSAC) programs are volunteer-staffed. With your help, we are able to operate these programs and provide our services to the public. Consider what you enjoy and your special talents when you are looking at just a few of our volunteer opportunities below.
Fundraising
Raising money to operate our programs and services is our biggest challenge. You may want to work with other volunteers on specific fundraisers like:
Tour de Tailwaggers
Raffle Ticket Sales
Membership Drive
Dog Washes & Car Washes
Golf Tournament
And there are many other opportunities that develop throughout the year.
Independent Fundraising
You may want to do something creative on your own for HSAC. Creative volunteers have raised money through lemonade stand sales, penny drives, candle sales, consignment sales, yard sales, pet food drives, Purina weight circle collections and more! If you are a member of a club or fraternal organization whose mission includes serving the community, HSAC is a great place to serve! Call us for great group ideas!
Working with animalsMaintaining the Luv-A-Pet Adoption Center at PetSmart is a big effort, but there is a big payoff: we are helping these kitties find forever homes by introducing them to the public. Cleaning litter boxes, grooming cats and helping socialize them are all important volunteer jobs that help us put their "best paw forward!"

Donate your gently used items for our twice monthly Indoor Yardsale. Contact us for details about times and locations to drop off your donations. No clothing please.

You can help us when shopping at Food Lion. Visit foodlion.com. To register your VIP card at the site, enter in 27215 as the ZIP code and choose HSAC as the organization you wish to support. This must be done annually.
